Job Vacancies



Pursuant to Section 89 (3) of the Local Government Act 1972, the Local Elections (Parishes and Communities) Rules 2006.


(1) As a consequence of resignations, three casual vacancies have arisen in the office of Councillor for Brinsworth Parish Council.

(2) In accordance with the Local Government and Police and Crime Commissioner (Coronavirus) (Postponement of Elections and Referendums) (England and Wales) Regulations 2020 an election will not be held to fill the vacancies, and they will be filled at the ordinary election on 6 May 2021.

(3) The Parish Council may from the date of this notice co-opt persons to fill the vacancies. In the event that the vacancies are not filled by co-option the vacancies will be filled at the next ordinary elections on Thursday 6 May 2021

Amenity Attendant / Handy Person

The Amenity Attendant / Handy Person is responsible for ensuring clean and tidy facilities (i.e. Playing fields, Parks, Play areas, Bowling green, Pavilion, Library and Changing rooms), undertake maintenance duties, gardening duties, ensuring the safety and supervision of users and collecting hire fees as and when required.

You will be part of a team working on a shift basis to cover the opening hours of 8.00am to 9.00pm Monday to Friday and 8.00am to 5.00pm at weekends and bank holidays. Additional hours will also need to be worked to help out on Parish Council hosted events.

The hours of work will be 37.5 per week (over a monthly rota) and the rate of pay is currently £9.40 per hour (with a further increase due following the successful completion of the probationary period).

It is essential that candidates hold a full driving licence.

We are looking for a responsible individual who can use their own initiative, work unsupervised and cares about the community. Proven experience as a handy person or amenity attendant is desirable. You will need to have basic maths skills, good communication skills, be well organised and good at problem solving. A keen eye for detail and physical stamina are also required.
