Remembrance Sunday

There will be a Remembrance Day ceremony at Brinsworth War Memorial in St Georges churchyard on Sunday November 8th at 10.50 am. Wreaths will be laid by representatives of the parish council and other organisations.

Government guidelines permit local authorities to organise outdoor Remembrance Sunday events at a public war memorial, if they complete a COVID-19 risk assessment and take all reasonable measures to limit the risk of transmission of the virus. Numbers should be kept to a minimum, focusing attendance on those wishing to lay wreaths. The council must take reasonable steps to minimise wider public viewing.

Members of the public are legally permitted to stop and watch the event as spectators, but must observe social distancing rules.

Event organisers must take reasonable steps to record the contact details of those attending (including those present in a working capacity, and members of the public who stop to spectate). All parties should adhere to social distancing guidelines at all times. This means people should be 2 metres apart.

Event organisers must keep a temporary record of attendees for 21 days, in a way that is manageable, and assist NHS Test and Trace with requests for that data if needed.
