Working with Rotherham Borough Council

News Date: 22nd August 2017

Brinsworth Parish Council is delighted to be working with Rotherham Borough Council to deliver its vision for a Community Resource Centre and Library as it redevelops the existing Community Hall site in Brinsworth, with a grant from the Big Lottery Fund. The Parish Council has been working with RMBC for some considerable time to find a long term solution to library provision in the area. The Parish Councils success in obtaining significant funding to deliver the new Community Resource Centre has accelerated the opportunity to create a sustainable future for the popular and much loved library service. The Parish Council clearly recognises the benefits for local people of bringing services together, and this new neighbourhood hub will create more opportunities for residents to come together to learn, socialise and feel
part of their community.

Dave Barry, the Vice Chair of Brinsworth Parish Council said "This is a real success story that the Parish Council have been pursuing for a long time. Many local people have been concerned about the possible loss of the Library and we have worked hard to reassure them that we have always been of the same opinion. To be able to announce that we have now reached an agreement with RMBC that will keep a Library in Brinsworth for the foreseeable future is a real "good news" message for everyone. The Parish Council will keep local residents updated throughout the development of the Library and Resource Centre through its regular Newsletters and Facebook Updates”.
