The Parish Council Team – Who we are and what we do?


The Clerk & Responsible Finance Officer
Employed by the Council to provide administrative and financial support for the Council’s activities, the Clerk’s role is varied and interesting. In addition, all other staff employed by the Council are supervised & managed by the Clerk.

The Clerk’s primary responsibility is to advise the Council on whether its decisions are lawful and to recommend ways in which decisions can be implemented most effectively & efficiently. To help with this, the Clerk researches topics of concern to the Council and provides unbiased information to help the Council to make appropriate choices.

The Clerk has a wide range of other responsibilities which include management of Council owned property as well as the daily running of Council administration.



The Deputy Cler
The Deputy Clerk provides support to the Clerk to ensure the smooth running of the Parish Council. The post holder covers for the Clerk during periods of annual leave or absence. The Deputy Clerk leads on all events, maintains the website and ensures that Council policies and procedures are up to date and comply with current legislation.



Assistant Clerk
The Assistant Clerk provides administrative support to the Clerk and Deputy Clerk to ensure the smooth running of the Parish Council. The post holder is employed on a part time basis to cover the office opening times of Mon-Fri 9am to 1pm.



Amenity Attendants
The Parish Council employs full time and part time Amenity Attendants who look after the Pavilion, open spaces, play areas, greens & pitches that the Parish Council owns. Duties vary from emptying the bins to repairs and maintenance jobs that are required throughout the year.



Street Cleansing Attendant
Street Cleansing Attendants The Parish Council employs 2 part-time Street Cleansing Attendants to supplement the work of the Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council’s Street Cleansing team. They work a fortnightly schedule to ensure all residential areas of the Parish are regularly visited.



Cleaner
The Parish Council employs a part-time cleaner to look after the Pavilion, offices, changing rooms and the Library.



Youth Workers
The Parish Council employ 3 qualified youth workers who run the weekly youth club held on a Tuesday evening in the Pavilion.
