Library Supervisor Vacancy

We are looking for a Library Supervisor to carry out the day to day running of our community library. You will provide excellent customer care, make the Library a clean, tidy and enjoyable space for public use, plan and run library activities, support volunteers, and provide cover for other library staff when needed.

The hours of work are 24 hours per week covering Monday to Saturdays (the library is currently closed on a Wednesday and Friday).  There is the option for this to be a job share position for the right candidates, please specify on your application form which you would prefer. The rate of pay is £11 per hour.

We are looking for a responsible individual who can use their own initiative, work unsupervised, and who cares about the community. Proven experience in a library is desirable, while having good communication skills, experience of delivering activities, and a good level of literacy are essential.

You will be supporting volunteers which will involve planning workloads and carrying out regular reviews. You will also be able to provide regular stats and updates on how the library is being used to the Deputy Clerk and Clerk to the Parish Council.

Pursuant to Section 89 (3) of the Local Government Act 1972, the Local Elections (Parishes and Communities) Rules 2006.


(1) As a consequence of resignations, three casual vacancies have arisen in the office of Councillor for Brinsworth Parish Council.

(2) In accordance with the Local Government and Police and Crime Commissioner (Coronavirus) (Postponement of Elections and Referendums) (England and Wales) Regulations 2020 an election will not be held to fill the vacancies, and they will be filled at the ordinary election on 6 May 2021.

(3) The Parish Council may from the date of this notice co-opt persons to fill the vacancies. In the event that the vacancies are not filled by co-option the vacancies will be filled at the next ordinary elections on Thursday 6 May 2021
